五年级下册英语知识点：名词

这里强调两点：不可数名词都默认为单数，所以总是用is或者was。单数名词表示一个可数事物。复数名词表示两个或两个以上的可数事物。

1).规则变化

①一般在名词后加s.如boy→boys, pen→pens等。

②以s, x, sh, ch结尾的，在后面加es.如bus-buses, box-boxes, brush-brushes, watch-watches.

③“以辅音字母+y”结尾的，y变为i，然后再加es.如baby→babies.

④以f或fe结尾的名词把f或fe改为v, 再加es. 如knife, half, leaf, wolf等。

⑤以o结尾的名词，除tomato, potato等少数在后面加es外，一般是在后面直接加s.如kilo→kilos,photo→photos,zoo→zoos, radio→radios, piano→pianos, video→videos.

2).不规则变化

man→men, woman→women, foot→feet, tooth→teeth,，child-children，mouse→mice

单复数形式相同如：sheep→sheep, deer→deer, Japanese→Japanese, Chinese→Chinese等。

有些名词形式上是单数，实为复数意义，通常被称为复数名词，如：people, police等。

由-man和-woman构成的合成词如：policeman→policemen, Englishman→Englishmen，Englishwoman-Englishwomen但German不是合成词，故复数形式为Germans.另外被man 或woman 修饰的'名词变复数时，两个名词都要变。例：a man doctor →two men doctors a woman teacher→some women teachers 但: apple tree→apple trees

有些名词只有复数形式，如：clothes, trousers, glasses, chopsticks等。

⑥数词+名词作定语时， 常采用数词+单数名词形式，如a two-week holiday,

an 8-year old girl.另一种常见的形式有five minutes’ walk, two days’ leave等。

3)不可数名词没有单复数形式，要表示不可数名词的数量，可用以下两种方法。

①用much, a little, a lot of /lots of some, any等修饰不可数名词。如：

The rich man has a lot of money.

②可用表单位的词修饰不可数名词， 如：a piece of paper, two pieces of paper,

a bottle of orange, a glass of milk, three bags of rice。

艾瑞克·卡尔,1929年6月25日出生于美国纽约州的锡拉丘兹。他的父母都是德国人,6岁时,随父母一起搬回到了德国。艾瑞克·卡尔讨厌德国式的教育,16岁那年从高中退学,在老师的劝说之下,在斯图加特一所有声望的美术学校学习了四年的视觉艺术。还是在学期间,就为美国情报中心绘制了一系列的海报。毕业后,他曾在一家时尚杂志担任艺术指导,但他太怀念儿时美国那间洒满了阳光、可以自由画画的教室了,太想回美国了,终于在1952年23岁那年,兜里揣着四十美元,又一个人回到了阔别了十七年的纽约。他给当时担任《财富》杂志艺术总监、后来以《小蓝和小黄》《小黑鱼》等作品闻名于世的李欧·李奥尼打了一个电话,李欧·李奥尼不但请他吃了一顿午饭,还给他介绍了一份工作。

他年近四十才开始创作图画书,迄今为止,已经创作了《棕色的熊,棕色的熊,你在看什么?》(BrownBear,BrwonBear,WhatDoYouSee?,1967)、《1,2,3,去动物园》(1,2,3ToTheZoo,1968)、《好饿的毛毛虫》、《好忙的蜘蛛》(TheVeryBusySpider,1985)、《爸爸,请为我摘月亮》(Papa,PleaseGetTheMoonForMe,1986)等七十多本色彩缤纷的拼贴画风格的图画书,被翻译成了三十多种语言,小读者遍布世界各地。2002年12月,他的个人美术馆——艾瑞克·卡尔图画书美术馆在马萨诸塞州开馆,这也是美国的第一个图画书美术馆。

不过,在很长的一段时间里,他的图画书并没有得到应有的评价,他甚至没有得到过凯迪克奖,这是因为批评家们不喜欢把书降低到像玩具一样的位置。2003年,为了弥补这一缺憾,美国图书馆协会授予他劳拉·英格尔·槐尔特奖,这也可以算是对他作品的艺术性表示的一种迟到的承认吧。

Xishuangbanna is the southernmost prefecture of Yunnan Province. The prefecture is nicknamed "Aerial Garden" for its luxuriant and multi-layered primitive woods and tropical rain forests, which are teeming with animals and plants.

Renowned as a huge natural zoo, Xishuangbanna's rain forest and monsoon jungles provide a habitat for nearly 1000 species of animals. Within thick and boundless forests wild elephants and wild oxen ramble about, with peacocks in their pride, gibbons at play, and hornbills whispering.

Thirteen species of wild life enjoy state protection, including loris, the gibbons, the red-necked cranes, the brown-neck horn-bills, and the green peacocks, which to the Dai people are a symbol of peace, happiness and good fortune and whose graceful postures can put professional dancers to shame. In Xishuangbanna, there is a saying: "Even a single tree can make a forest and an old stalk can blossom and beat fruit ."
